Artist Marcel Meury

Marcel Meury (*1975) liess sich von 1992 bis 1996 zum Fotografen ausbilden. Danach arbeitete er zuerst als Assistent für verschiedene Fotografen, war als Locationscout für Werbe- und Modefotografie tätig und schliesslich als selbständiger Fotograf und Künstler, wobei von 2001 bis 2003 mit Standort Berlin.

Ab 2006 besuchte er die Zürcher Hochschule der Künste mit Vertiefung Bildende (Bachelor of Fine Arts). 2008 wechselte er für ein Jahr ans Central Saint Martins in London. Für seinen Master in Fine Arts ist er zurück an die Zürcher Hochschule der Künste gekehrt. Seine fotografischen Arbeiten wurden ausgestellt und in diversen Magazinen veröffentlicht, so zum Beispiel in „Hochparterre“ und „Wallpaper“.

Ausstellungen hatte er u.a. 2006 in der Zürcher Galerie Widmer & Theodoridis contemporary. 2007 wurde sein Video „Der mit dem Baum wankt“ für ein Kunst-am-Bau-Projekt im Stadion Letzigrund Zürich ausgewählt. 2008 überraschte er auf Einladung der Madonna Faust Galerie das erste Mal in Bern. 2009 kehrte er u.a. mit einer Ausstellung nach London zurück und zeigte eine Solo Show im Borstal Space. Sein Werk GUM wurde zuletzt im Kunstraum Winterthur installiert.

Marcel Meury lebt und arbeitet in Zürich.
